Been on our agenda for a while. Take Dan and Misty on a trail ride before they left for Florida. Goke turned up lame. So we decided it would be best if I rode double with them (yeah, not the brightest). So I had Dan hold Kit. I jumped, she darted, Dan let go, I kicked her in the kidneys (on accident), she started to crow hop. I didn't have her head (dan dropped it), I dove, snapped my leg. Hard cement-like clay is not good for the bones. No, I did not scream or cry. I have very high pain tolerance. After a quick class reunion (I knew 3 of the paramedics from school). I went to the hospital. You'll be out and up tomorrow.....was the last thing I heard as the pain killers kicked in. I was too busy watching the dancing blue spider on the ceiling. Good stuff!
Well, been a week, I'm still alive. Barely, almost died twice. I broke my femur, had to get rods and pins put in. My blood oxygen was at 30% even though they were giving me 100%. They're not sure, but they think the fat from inside my marrow unclotted and caught in my lungs. All they could do was give me blood thinners and wait. Then I bled out in my leg internally.
Feeling somewhat better now. Not allowed to put any weight on my leg for 6-8wks, then get it x-rayed again. I will ride again. I don't know when I'll get into the swing of things, I get tired extremely easy.
I'll ride again. Phantom will be my confidence builder as I'm working on Goke about his dog issues. Joltling will not be good on newly healed bone.

Am so glad to hear you are on the mend. Rock hard ground is not good for bones as I know. My girlfriend dropped the lunging line of the pony I was on and it panicked, bolted, came to a fence and it went one way and me the other breaking both bones below the knee on one leg. I was in plaster for 6 months.
If you are anything like I was you will be back on a horse as soon as you are able. Meantime you have plenty of time to do more of your lovely artwork and maybe make some more of your wonderful downloads for us.
Meanwhile don't overtire yourself and get well soon.

I won't be able to see my horses because of the layout of the land...sigh.
I'm getting more stamina everyday. Traveling from one end of the trailor (My room to the computer=80ft) has me pooped. I just stare at it and look at the trail of insperation sweated on the floor.
I still have the ones send out already to amuse you guys until I pep up.
And thank you guys for you encouragement.

I got my staples out! WOOT! Let me tell you, that's a very weird feeling getting them out. I now have two markings that look like dragonfly tatoos on the side of my knee. My thigh one looks like a giant leech got me....icky.
Mom went to the flea market and came back with a walker. Yes, a little old lady walker. I have decided to spray paint it black, tie my key chains to it, and put a little backpack in the front. If I'm going to look like an idiot I'll do it in style!
It's a life saver though, went I'm tired that stability helps.
My knee is bending a little and the inflammation is down in my lower leg. I'm doing self physical therapy. The nurses felt I was well and able enough to do them myself (well, with family). Painful, but it seems to be working.

Glad to hear you are on the road to recovery. Just take it one day and one step at a time and you'll be back riding horses in no time at all.

darn, no electric wheelchair?
sounds like you're doing the walker up right so that it blends in...
plus if it looks like you already have tattoos, you won't have to pay for new ones
