I'm curious to know how everyone's went... And which you celebrated.

I sort of did both. It was a really boring day most of the day (no offence to the people I talked to... but I was getting bored out of my mind...). Then I found out a friend was having a "dateless loser party' in honor of Singles Awareness Day. It was a lot of fun. Played Halo and Goldeneye and watched Mystery Science Theater 3000 (from which I purloined the quote "you could've got mustard on his brain!" just because it is stupid but hilarious). It was a great time. I was out later than my roommate (that NEVER happens!)

So how did you all pass the time? :D

Although love is tricky, I think it is easy for someone to fall in love. It is more difficult to find companionship and compatibility.

This world needs more love. So I am in favor of anything that helps promote or emphasize love. Therefore, I am in favor of Valentine's Day as another day to show one's love for another. But, buying overpriced flowers or candy, or putting up with crowds at a restaurant, or buying a preprinted card is not showing one's love. How to express love is different for different couples. But, for me, sharing a sunset together and putting into one's own words how the other makes one feel expresses love more than those other things. (Those other things are also good, but not as part of Valentine's Day.)

I know someone whose birthday is on Valentine's Day. She is married. But she and her husband do not do anything special for Valentine's Day or her birthday. They do special things all throughout the year. (They say "every day is a special day.") They feel if they are "waiting" to do something special on specific days, then something is wrong.

Unfortunately, I never had someone special in my life. So Valentine's Day is not special to me directly. But I am still glad it is there and enjoy hearing or seeing others expressing their feelings. (I probably would have used a different day and name, however. I would have emphasized the "love" or even "caring" aspect instead of a day and name associated with a saint.)

I definitely agree with Jay in that the world needs more love!

I didn't do anything on Valentine's Day because I'm single and have almost given up hope of finding anyone at least for now. :? But I'm glad for everyone who did have a great Valentine's Day and if I did have someone then I would probably participate. I wouldn't get too involved, I'd probably just give them a card and a present or something. :)
