You know what would be cool? Is with the new photography mode, we can have photo contests! Like have different categories, or rules, and maybe little captions for funny ones! I mean, we could have a, "Cat Photos Only!", or "Stalking Animals Photos!", or "Who has the Funniest Photo!". I think that would be a blast.

Do you mean real photographs or screenshots of the ZT game?

Yeah, that would be pretty fun. Now we only have to wait until the game comes out.

One note about having contests where members post images from the game: We once had a forum for Zoo Tycoon screenshots. Many people did not like it because they did not have or were able to obtain space to host the images so they could post them. It seemed like a double standard to allow some members to post images when others did not have the means. Also, if embedded images were allowed (easy to make people post links only), some services do not post the picture (some people have big problems like this with services like Tripod), but when they do, it is an issue for members with slower connections to look at pages with multiple large images on them. For some it can even crash their computers. I thought I should make sure you are aware of these possible problems.

Hmm, good points there, Superlion...

Perhaps it could be like the Zoo contests, and the members could send the files to the judges via e-mail to be judged...

as for space in uploading images, Village Photos is an online photo uploader. they let you upload your image and give you a link to it for webpage and forum linking, and will allow you to have a free acount, but with certain limitations: you can only hold 25 images and you have a 5mb daily transfer limit. still, if you are using these images for contests, you can easily just get rid of older ones who's contests are done. i think it would work nicely for folks who don't have a place to upload images.

for example, this image is hosted on village photos:
