Those 2 guesses narrowed things down quite a lot, possibly to just 1 animal. But it still might be difficult to figure out so soon.

scarab: 2 letters match (0 in the right place)
falcon: 0 letters match (0 in the right place)

jerboa: 1 letter matches (1 in the right place)

It is tricky, but now 1 letter is known for sure by those 3 clues: "s". But we know it is not at the start. We also know that either "r" or "b" is in the word. We also know that the word does not have the vowels: "a", "e", or "o". And we know the word does not have the consonants: c, f, j, l, or n.

That tells us a lot more about the letters. The word has to have "h", "r", "s", and "u", and a "r" has to be in the 3rd position.
