A man fell into a full bath of liquid at work. When he got out, he was dry, but he was taken straight to a hospital. Can you explain why he was dry and why he was taken to a hospital? The liquid in the bath was at room temperature. There were warning signs to keep clear. It was an accident that caused him to fall into the bath. He had fallen gently and had not suffered a concussion or any severe blows. The liquid in the bath was 4 feet deep, and little was lost when he fell in. He was not wearing any protective clothing. He had not ingested any of the liquid. He was required to burn his clothes.

it's a liquid that oxydates really quick but is poisoness like gasoline

No, this liquid does not oxidize. That is why the bath of liquid was open. It is poisonous, but it was not ingested. What liquid is it?

That is correct. He fell into a storage bath containing mercury. He was taken to the hospital to be decontaminated because mercury can cause health problems even if it is on the skin. That is also why the clothes were burned. Mercury is a metal, the only metal that is a liquid at room temperature. At room temperature, mercury does not leave the skin feeling wet.

Because of how dangerous mercury is, be careful not to break thermometers, barometers, and other things containing mercury. If you do, flush the skin with water immediately and seek medical attention or advice. (A body might be able to take a small amount, but it is not worth taking chances.)

In an ancient kingdom, a person was condemned to death. He had to choose between three rooms. The first was full of raging fires, the second was full of assassins with daggers, and the third was full of lions that hadn't eaten in 3 years. Which room was safest for him?

the lions, they've probably already starved to death by now or killed eachother.

That is correct. The third room is the safest because lions that haven't eaten in three years are dead.

Here is something for you to do on your own. The answers are included, but try to look at each question and answer it before looking at its answer.

Below are four (4) questions. You have to answer them instantly. You can't take your time; answer all of them immediately. OK? Let's find out just how clever you really are.

Ready?
GO!!!

First Question: You are participating in a race. You overtake the second person. What position are you in?

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Answer: If you answered that you are first, then you are absolutely wrong! If you overtake the second person and you take his place, you are second!
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Try not to mess up in the next question.
To answer the second question, don't take as much time as you took for the first question.

Second Question: If you overtake the last person, then you are...?

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Answer: If you answered that you are second to last, then you are wrong again. Tell me, how can you overtake the LAST person?!
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

You're not very good at this are you?

Third Question: Very tricky math! Note: This must be done in your head only. Do NOT use paper and pencil or a calculator. Try it.

Take 1000 and add 40 to it. Now add another 1000. Now add 30. Add another 1000.
Now add 20. Now add another 1000. Now add 10. What is the total?

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Answer: Did you get 5000? The correct answer is actually 4100. Don't believe it? Check with your calculator!
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Today is definitely not your day. Maybe you will get the last question right?

Fourth Question: Mary's father has five daughters: 1. Nana, 2. Nene, 3. Nini, 4. Nono.
What is the name of the fifth daughter?

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Answer: Nunu?
NO! Of course not. Her name is Mary. Read the question again.

Now back to a puzzle for you to supply answers below.

This test does not measure intelligence, your fluency with words (although it uses English and, in some cases, United States related items), creativity, or mathematical ability. It will, however, give you some gauge of your mental flexibility. In the three years since the test was developed, few people have been found who could solve more than half of the 26 questions on the first try. Many, however, reported getting answers long after the testing had been set aside, particularly at unexpected moments when their minds were relaxed. Some reported solving all the questions over a period of several days.

Instructions : Each equation below contains the initials of words that will make it correct. Furnish the missing words.

For example: 60 = M in an H
would be "60 = Minutes in an Hour."

1. 26 = L of the A
2. 7 = W of the AW
3. 1001 = A N
4. 12 = S of the Z
5. 54 = C in a D (W the J)
6. 9 = P in the S S
7. 88 = P K
8. 13 = S on the A F
9. 18 = H on a G C
10. 32 = D F at which W F
11. 8 = S on a S S
12. 200 = D for the P G in M
13. 3 = B M (S H T R)
14. 90 = D in a R A
15. 4 = Q in a G
16. 24 = H in a D
17. 1 = W on a U
18. 57 = H V
19. 11 = P on a F T
20. 1000 = W that a P is W
21. 29 = D in F in a L Y
22. 64 = S on a C
23. 40 = D and N of G F
24. 80 = D to G A the W
25. 101 = D
26. 16 = M on a D M C (Y H H and a B of R!)

Best Of Luck!!

i've seen this list before so I'll let others take their shots and supply only one answer. #12: 200 D for the P G in M = 200 (D)ollars for the (P)assing (G)o in (M)onopoly.

Feel free to post your answers. That will help to know where hints should be provided. And, those that know the answers, feel free to provide hints as well. :))
