I believe I have it. If so, it is an arboreal mammal of tropical America that has brownish fur and a long, prehensile tail. It has another name as well. Hopefully this information will help others to get it.

The first post has the rules and explains how the counting works, with examples since it is confusing with multiples. Basically, if my word has no e's, then your guess matched 2 of the other letters. If my word has 1 e, then your guess matched that and 1 other letter. If my word has 2 e's, your guess matched them, and no other letter. If my word has 3 e's, your guess matched 2 of them, and no other letter.

margay: 3 letters match (0 in the right place)
