Hello All Members Of Zkl!
This is my very first time joining a forum. I am very excited b/c this seems like a nice place with tons of nice people. Now let me tell how I came to love Zoo Tycoon.
I will have to admit before I played zoo tycoon I was not much of an animal lover. I saw them as these scary, smelly things. In fact it would probably be more correct to say I absolutly hated animals. Not only that but I got scared to death if even a dog or cat approached me.
I was searching for something off of downloads.com a few months ago and I cant seem to remember what I was looking for now. But anyway, I came across the demo version of Zoo Tycoon. It seemed interesting enough, something to pass the time with. Plus the animals couldn't hurt me was a big bonus lol. Once I started that I was hooked! Never a person to play pc games either. I went out and bought the actual game and was amazed at all the animals, buildings, scenery etc... coompared to the demo version. It took up very most of my pc time.
After a while I needed to see some screenshots to get ideas and see how my zoos were holding up to others. I typed in zoo tycoon and found all these fansite, forums and more dowloads!!! I was so psyched. I had no idea Zoo Tycoon had such a huge following I have never even heard of the game before. Now theres a going to be a number 2? I have barely played my complete collection but im excited.
Now I am anxious to go to my first zoo! Yes I am 20 yrs old and never been to a zoo before (sad). I was from ontario and had 2 great zoos within an hour from me. The Toronto Zoo and African Lion Safri. Never had the urge to go. I am currently in Atlanta, GA now and the b/f is taking me to my first zoo tommorrow, Zoo Atlanta!!! Im not sure how big it is or what not just hoping to see lots of animals I have now come to love from the game.
Phew! A long introduction. I hope some peopel didnt get discouraged and read most of it. I look forward to meeting everyone here and just hope I am welcome. I'll Let you know tommorrow how my first zoo experience went!!!

Welcome to the Lounge. It is great to see someone who didn't care for animals discover how cool they are and how wonderful they can be. Zoo Tycoon is a great game and addictive(in this case a good addiction) Never been to a zoo before? Tsk tsk. Enjoy your first experience tomorrow. I always look forward to visting a zoo and seeing the wonderful creatures there. Be sure to tell us what you saw. Glad you now like animals.

Luna Manar, one of our admins, is from Atlanta, too! So you should feel right at home here.
Though I have always been an animal lover, Zoo Tycoon has taught me so much about the animal kingdom in general and I am very thankful for that, so it's great that it is helping you to overcome your fears. Welcome to the site and enjoy your stay, you'll love it.
Have fun at the zoo, too.
Welcome aboard ZKL, pal! I am so very overjoyed to hear you have come to adore animals; especially after playing Zoo Tycoon. It's a wonderful, entertaining game that all of us ZTers recommend for people who have not yet found out about the game, but are animal lovers themselves. ZT increases animal knowledge and their requirements in the real world. As you can see, I'm very happy for you.
Oh, and enjoy your zoo visit.

Thanx everyone for making me feel welcome!!! Unfortunatly, not going to be making the trip to the zoo today:( I wish I could go but having an essay due and a test to study for is first priority I guess... darn. Next weekend for sure I hope! Thanx Wally for reminding me content not structure. Drilled into my head in my psych class enough. But then again my english prof begs to differ...

Welcome bengal21!
Your intro was very interesting and I'm glad that you now have an interest in animals!
It's a shame that you couldn't get to a zoo but I would highly recommend it! There are loads of beautiful and interesting creatures on our planet. Glad to have you here and remember to enjoy yourself

Hey bengal, let me know when you're going to Zoo Atlanta. I might just join you!
Zoo Atlanta is one of the top Zoos in the US, and IMO it really deserves the recognition. They give their animals quality enclosures, there is HUGE support funding of the zoo from the people around here, and it's just a very well run place in general, not to mention pretty. I am sure you will have a great time, bengal!
Oh, and by the way, welcome to the Lounge!
