Microsoft has an official Zoo Tyccon 2 page at Zoo Tycoon 2 Official Website

The site gives a good idea of all the new things in ZT2 including a couple of new screenshots which show ring-tailed lemurs, a bengal tiger stalking what looks like gemsbok, and even a shot of a flamingo in flight! Check it out, its pretty cool.

I liked the looks of some of the toys. It looks like the lemurs have balls to play with and the elephant has an art canvas to draw paintings on B)

Releasing animals back into the wild might win awards and increase conservation efforts but also negatively impact guest happiness because the animal isn't in the zoo anymore. Saving money to acquire more land or build bigger attractions might require reducing investment in conservation or breeding endangered species. In Zoo Tycoon 2, you'll need to plan and play wisely in order to build a world-class zoo.
seems there's going to be a lot more gameplay

Hmm... I was going through the Zootopia section when I found something called Zookeeper mode. Here's the scoop on this mode:

Be prepared to dig right in and get your hands dirty when you take the plunge into Zookeeper mode, a new game mode that takes you behind the barriers and the fences for a truly hands-on approach to the care and feeding of your animals and their environments.

When we say Zookeeper mode is “hands-on,” we’re not just kidding around; in Zookeeper mode, you can feed and water your animals, empty trash cans, scoop up piles of poop, and more.

You’ll gain invaluable insight into the daily challenges (and rewards) faced by your zoo staff as they work to keep your animals and guests happy and your zoo up-and-running (not to mention making money) every day.

And here's a screeny of something from ZK mode.

And here's the link to the Zootopia section:
