Doesn't appear that it will be coming out until the end of the year, though. I don't know if I can wait that long.

Do you think that in the time between now and the release of ZT2 there will be official downloads for ZT1?

Guest, I don't think there will be anymore ZT1 downloads since ZT2 is official.

Sheila, thanks for the news about ZT2. But according to that release only 30 animals? Not very many. If we hav eto wait until fall for the game I hope they have more animals. 30 is not very many.

Personally I doubt there will be anymore downloads for classic ZT since Complete Collection came out. Who knows, though, we could be surprised.

I know, 30 animals doesn't seem like very much, does it? I guess that means we'll have lots and lots of bonus downloads and expansions to look forward to (hopefully)!

I still think M$ will release some stuff for ZT, more exactly the Japanese and Ice-theme that weren't included in the Endangered species-pack you can download from the official site...

ZT2: 30 animals is even less than the 40 in ZT1!!!
I exspected at least as much animals as in the original ZT

that means will all have to save some money for some expansions

from a marketing and moneymaking standpoint, the key to a good game is being able to add expansion sets and sequels.

now Zoo Tycoon will have both.

and to increase the moneymaking: expansions to the sequel!

seriously I think there will be some great gameplay to come out of ZT2, especially due to the new modes and with animal scale/size being able to have smaller creatures appear better.

With small animals being easier to make, they better have a red panda

offcourse I didn't think they would include aquatic animals or so, I just thought they would at least include all (=more than 40) original animals

I assume they will make new add-ons with marine-animals and maybe with dinosaurs and with birds

theyre probably going to eventually have as many animals as ZT1 but i think they will try to stretch the number of animals over more expansions(to make more $$$)
but hopefully a lot of bonus stuff will be free too

I'm very excited! I don't mind the fact that there are only 30 animals, as long as there are wolves. But even if there aren't, I'll probably love the new modes. Sounds awesome!

It does sound neat. But 30 animals sort of disappoints me. But I'm sure M$ and BF worked their tails off to make the new game, and I'll respect them for that. Perhaps the length between now and the ZT2 release date they will update and continue to work on ZT2 to make it even better. Most game companies do that. If they want to satisfy their customers, they ought to see for improvements if possible.

I just hope there is a new APE to go along with it! Probably not, since it would have to be extremely complex..... Still! I think that not having a fake announcement of ZT2 like before is great!

I'm not sure about another APE. I doubt it, but knowing M$ and BF, anything's possible.

i really dont care aboutt the amount of animals only being 30 i only use about 15-20 anyways all i know is the animal sutiability thing better be much more flexable and animals better not get mad so easily it was way to unrealistic and it would be cool if animals aged instead of being one size then poof adult
