Thats a great idea robbieb. Imagine what a male lion would look like(I would hope lions are in ZT2). First it would be small with spots, then the spots would disappear, then the mane starts to grow, then the mane becomes full. It would be sweet to watch that occur over time.

Wildlife Park got canceled? That's too bad! I was looking forward to that.

I like the idea you mentioned, and I also hope there are more realistic life spans. The mountain lions are notorious for dying off really fast, and so are the penguins. I just couldn't stand that. I hope it is much improved with ZT2.

Well, I guess I'd have to agree with Robbie. I don't usually use too many animals in a zoo; it depends on my mood and patience level. Part of the reason I like a lot of animals is just generally because I like a variety. I do not care for using the same animals over and over persistently. It makes constructing zoos more thrilling.

ANd the crocodiles, and the chimps, and the warthogs, and the flamingos. They need to be more realistic about the reproduction rate. And also life span. Penguins can live for quite a long time. Same with mountain lions. And mountain lions are my favorite so I want to see them live longer then the avg. of 7 months!

Amazon.com does have some copies of Wildlife Park so apparently the game was made and produced. But if it didn't do well in the market then it might be hard to find in stores.

I guess they realised that they didn't have a chance against Zoo Tycoon

A fact is a simple statement that everyone believes. It is innocent, unless found guilty. A hypothesis is a novel suggestion that no one wants to believe. It is guilty, until found effective.

yeah some animals just have WAY too many babys i know flamingos like large collonies but when the exhibit is only like 250 squares and already has 3 hippos 78 flamingos is a bit much  (ive seriously had that many at one time) but thats what saltwater crocs are for  and with my warthogs i usually let them reproduce until there are 10-15 then i sell all the males and if their numbers get low i get another male for a couple months

That's the one good thing about those insane breeding aniamls. You can always use them as a bumper crop for cash if needed :D

I wonder if the reason for fewer animals in ZT2 is due to inital space/size limitations. NoOne wants a "new" game that is huge...
M$ is probably going for larger audience, They already know we're hooked into it!

I won't buy it as it's released. I gotta wait, try demos, read reviews...stuff like that.
40G system filled twice...heading for the upgrades soon
I hear there is a 300G HD...If i get that M$ can put 100's of animals in an animal expansion disk!

thinin about it do u really need a 300g HD mow many games could u possibly need to put on one system and your mothere board has to be able to handel it and its pointless to get it without at leaast a gig of ram id get like a 120g or at the most a 200g hd save the money

I can understand the need for larger hard disks. I have filled my 40G as well, and most of it uses some form of compression. And there are more than just games filling it. I'm interested in so many different things.

But ZT alone doesn't need that much space. All of the expansion packs and all of the user created things to date only amount to 4G.

The advice about RAM is good. ZT (and, therefore, the 3D ZT2 as well) can easily benefit from a gig of RAM, more so than extra disk space. It can also benefit from faster processing speeds.

As for the number of animals in ZT2... Blue Fang probably has some CD-ROM number in mind. Obviously close-ups require more graphics (and therefore more CD-ROM space) than overheads. Plus, it looks like they are using more graphics in general. For example, the screen shots show 2 different adult elephants (possibly a male and a female, but it is also possible that there might be more than one set of adult graphics for the same sex due to the close-ups). However, ZT uses the same graphics for both the male and female adult elephants.
