That'd make sense except that the UK is in English as well and their release date is also different. Often release dates are different, usually things being released first in the US then later in Europe (unless they're made overseas, in which case they're usually released there first). I really don't have a logical explaination for that except that's how it's alway been.

Actually, US English is different than UK English, which is different than Australian English. I do not know if the messages in Zoo Tycoon are different in those countries. Even if they are not different, they are probably using different language codes. The US ZT uses language code 1033. There could also be differences in symbols (dollars versus pounds, placement of commas and periods in numbers, formats of dates). However, I would think that the operating system would take care of those differences.

But I doubt that it is the translations themselves that make the difference in release dates. They could easily finish the translations while people are testing the Beta versions of the game. My guess is that it is economics. If the sales are reasonably good in the US, they will take some of the profits of those sales to pay for the translations. If the sales are not reasonably good, they will not waste the money to do translations. (I'm using the term "sales" loosely. Their sales are to stores, not to us consumers.)

There is nothing on Amazon.com, Best Buy, or Wal-Mart. Those are the three places where I can usually find what I want first and often at a little lower price.

Wal-Mart does have the strategy book for $12.59. The book will ship on 10/28/04. That's cheaper than Amazon.
future shop would probaly have it out :D

I hope you're right, EO....that's only about 2 1/2 more weeks away! But if that is the case, I would be surprised by Microsoft's decision not to promote the release date a little more. Who knows with them, though.

I was looking through the newspaper ads and according to Target, it will be released November 11 (that's next THURSDAY!!! :luv: ). It's also going to be on sale for $34.99.

$34.99? *drools*. Well, that's a lot better than $40 or $50... but... I still don't have money like that. I will be in debt in about two months. Argh... since it's not long until Christmas, I think it's going on the list. :\
