No problems with a shaky cursor here. There might well be something in the game controls to help. I have a new computer with a very fast processor and lots of memory, and a graphics card to match and that may have something to do with it too. If worse comes to worse, you could call MS tech support, they should have an idea of what to do.

I put those donation boxes EVERYWHERE. They are money makers beyond our wildest ZT1 dreams! I'm still playing that first scenario, and I've made $515000 in donations. I'm in Year 5, June.

I've really been enjoying playing ZT2! The best thing is, it plays so completely differently than ZT1, that they truly are two separate games, There's no need to stop playing ZT1 just because ZT2 is out.

I have several Educators. Guests think the world of them, even if the Educators do all love to hear themselves talk. The staff and guest aritficial intelligence is much, much, much, much better with ZT1 when it first came out. Remember how none of the staff would stay on task, and you'd find Zookeepers all bunched together, their little hands on their little hips, apparently gossipping all the while oblivious to the hordes of hungry and sick animals all around them? ANd the Maintenance Men who you'd find flung to the far corners of the zoo, wandering aimlesly. And the guests, who were like taking kids on a long car trip, forever hungry, thirsty, tired, and needing the bathroom, so that when we finally could pick them up when DD came out that we fed them to the lions and T-Rexes and found other twisted ways of tormenting them? ZT2 isn't like that, as far as I can see.

Speaking of guests, I inadvertantly left out a piece of fencing when I expanded my Savannah Herds exhibit and the Zebras, Giraffes, Gazelles, and Ostriches got out and ran amuck among the guests. The guests in panic in 3D was priceless, they were running around shrieking, waving their arms and in general freaking out. They were so worked up that scores of them were still shrieking and running long after I'd fixed the exhibit and caught all the animals. Lucky for the guests I'd had to make a separate exhibit for the cheetahs and lion that HAD been in the exhibit not long before!

man you guys have guts! i havent even opened up any of my zoo's! that zoo is staying closed because i just can't play this game! i have one beaver exhibit, it took me SO long to make that thing! :? when im playing the game i feel like my mouse is as big as my size 9 shoe,.. i just can't control this stuff! and sheila, boy oh boy i know what you mean about that rubberband mode. 0_0 its taken me too long to try to make a second exhibit!
LMAOOOO have you guys washed a polar bear yet? @_@
there is too many food options!
i kinda miss the zookeeper telling me what im lacking in an exhibit, and my beavers in the exhibit are "satisfyed" but i'd sure like to see that green happyface level to the max, not just a half-filled green smiley face.
Terriermom makes a great point tho, this is a very different game then zt1, there is no need to stop playing zt1 if you have zt2. Im so new to zt2, when i've reached a breaking point in frustration i go back to the saftey of zt1

Terrier, you HAVE to get a screenshot of those guests freaking out and share it with me! :D

I have better luck with the rubberband mode than the other two modes. It may be because of my cursor problem. I couldn't get the rectangle to move sideways far enough to make the exhibit the size it should be.

I have to admit I really don't care if and when chimpanzee 2 is going to poo. It's not enough to be told in the animal status box, but to have to see an emoticon too??

Keep playing, it really does get easier the more you play. That first Zookeeper in Training scenario is a good one to practice with, the guests are very indulgent and forgiving. I''ve gotten much better with paths and fence making with the practice.

Be careful. With Polar Bears, Grizzlies, and Cheetahs, sell off the male babies as soon as they are grown. Else they will challenge their father or their brother or both for dominance, and one animal will kill the other, and you'll get the message Cheetah 4 has been attacked and killed by another animal. I had a pair of Cheetah males, brothers from the same litter, than I kept together after the parent Cheetahs had died of old age--this had been their 5th or 6th litter--amd one Cheetah attacked the other and killed it. It happened with my polar bears too, one animal killed another. I can't be sure it was two males, cause I thought I'd sold the just grown babies and kept the mated pair, but maybe I didn't. It was also a combined exhibit, with many, many, many penguins, as in like a dozen, so maybe the penguins did in the bear. The bears will hunt and kill penguins if there are only a few penguins, but not if there are many. I won't be doing that combo anymore. I had a very angrey young aduly male grizzly wanting to challenge it's father, but I managed to separate them into different exhibits before they fought.

You can put Cheetahs with lions, and Lions with Elephants, and it's good. Also chimps with tigers. Even lions with the animals like ostrich, zebras, gazelle, and giraffes.

I've played the demo, and I find it very hard to make a right exhibit, I always wonder if they need some water in their exhibit to. Anyway the exhinits are much more realistic.

A fact is a simple statement that everyone believes. It is innocent, unless found guilty. A hypothesis is a novel suggestion that no one wants to believe. It is guilty, until found effective.

Well, after playing it most of this afternoon and evening, I am finally starting to get the hang of building those fences! But I tell you what is really annoying to me now - when you get the message that says "Zookeeper can't reach Chimpanzee 5" when all Chimpanzee 5 is doing is climbing up in a tree or hanging out in his shelter. It is irritating! And I also can't stand it when you the the messages saying "Zookeeper can't get to Bird Poop" or "Zookeeper can't get to the fish." Well, which bird poop and fish can't he reach??!?! If you have more than one type of bird in your zoo you can't tell. Same goes for the fish - if you have more than one type of animal that eats it in your zoo you can't tell which one the zookeeper can't get to.

I really love the animations for the animals, though. The red panda and peafowls are my favorites so far. I also like the game play more than I did at first. And the way you can build things in less of a linear fashion is also starting to sink in a little bit. Though, I still find myself building exhibits the same way I did in ZT1. I need to experiment more with natural barriers and stuff.

i also am still in zt1 mode. i keep builing with fences and not bothering with natural barriers. um, to your thing, if you click on the message it brings you to whatever. i also think buildings are a little cartoony. zt1 was much easier. i like this 2 though :)

Thanks for the info - I didn't know you could click on the message and it would show you where the problem is occurring. That will help A LOT!!! :D

I just downloaded the demo and am a bit confuzzled. I need to play with this a bit more. I really, really miss the zookeeper telling me exactly what the critters need. More foliage -- more rocks -- more shelter.

I'm crossing my fingers that the full version is under the tree for me next month. :)

I don't really do any natural barrier but I like how the biome brush automaticaly plants trees, plants, and rocks so you don't have to place them seperatly. :))

I really love the fact that if at least fifty percent of the biome brush is inside the exhibit, it doesn't paint outside of it.
Bluememaw, if you use the arrow keys to scroll when you are placing rectangular fences it works much better. I had problems with that also until I figured that out.
Deep fried lemur, anyone?
