Download again or save money? If you want the sahelter I suggest
download from the official site, than Zoo admin.

the elephants do like the shelter. however, if there are too many,
you'll get the unhappy sign.
has this always occured?
if you have 2 elephants, or 3, then one shelter should do. if you have
lots of elephants, use moreso the large ones. you should firstly, get a
smiley face when placing the first shelter in the exhibit.
If this is a uer created animal (like a simple stat change) then its a
glitch in that animal. If you have recently installed a hack, i suggest
you take out the hack. certain hacks can do wonky things.

unfortunatly, if this didnot occur when you first installed the game,
then it is something you have installed, that is user made/user created.
If it was a bug in the game, it would have been brought up quite some
time ago.

I've looked for info on this and can't find anything; I also hope that
this query is in the right place, hence I'm not spamming (don't want to
get busted for that).
I've found Magnet (polar bear), the Asian elephant and a plateosaurus
already on my DD/MM CD. They are in .ztd format and I've tried to
install them but they don't show up on the game.
On the main ZT screen, clicked on get new items, went to the D: drive,
retrieved them (file move screen came up) and restarted the game.
And no new animals, even waited six months in the event they had to be
waited for. So then I did the same thing, but went to the updates folder
to get new stuff, restarted etc and still no animals.
Do I have to go through the all the files, the .pals and the .ai for
each animal for them to be playable?

i would just suggest downloading them from M$ again... maybe it was a
messup on the CD, or maybe it's something they're doing with new disks?

Those are animal updates so there tank capatibal. I'm not sure what the
platiosaur is there for.

those were for the new animation files for MM. they aren't new animals
alltogether. the new files were for the toys and swimming animations for
the animals. those alone are not a full animal.ztd file, only new
animations.

Hello everyone, I have had ZT & MM & DD for about a month now and just
last night I had a woe with it. You know how all the animals you have
are listed on a animal list right? Well, I will be looking at an exhibit
thinking there is only one animal, as that is what my animal list says,
and I can see 2 animals in the exhibit, but only 1 is listed. How do I
fix this and what caused it? Help Please. Thanks.

That happens with the chimps in my zoo. I don't no why it happens. I

Yes, that's happened to me, too. It depends on what you are trying to
do. If you build a zoo that looks good to you, has nice wide paths,
guest attractions evenly spaced throughout the zoo, lots of trees and
flowers; the guests aren't happy. Don't know why.
I am working on a DD zoo. The path is one tile wide. You know how large
those exhibits are. I have a 92 guest rating. I've found the less
decorative stuff I put in the zoo it makes the guests happier as long as
their needs are met.
I have to decide if I am building the zoo for a scenario or for looks.
If it's for looks, forget the guest happiness rating.

Yeah, that happens with my chimps too, always misses one.
I've also noticed, oddly, that if the guests have more to comment on,
the more interested in the zoo they are. They don't get happier, but
they don't lose any happines points.
You know, flower beds, I hope my wish comes true (some fountains), low
low prices at the restaurants, this statue's horns would make a good
coat rack etc.
And they get really annoying if they don't have paths to walk on...they
get mad and walk out if they don't know where to go.
Mincing voice: "I don't like this zoo, I'm going to an amusement park".

I believe that the ballpit has over writen the rope toy as when you go
to the ballpit it says rope toy so that explains the rope toy my
question is is could that also be affecting the jungle gym cause they
dont play on that either

I completly removed the ballpit and did a partial reinstallation it
helped with the rope toy but as I suspected the jungle gym is still on
the fritz if I assume its an object by the same developer I could still
be looking through qwite a few downloads unless you have any ideas that
I haven't thought of Ive been very lucky after I bought the complete
collection out of the massive amounts of user items I have this has been
my only qwirk
well maybe others will have my problems and will turn in the other
download thats doing it but at least we know that the ballpit is one of
them
maybe you could let it out that its not complete collection compatable
in yhe mean time ill just keep looking in the buggy section till someone
reports the other one

interestingly enough, it may be an ID issue, or even so - how many items
are IN your updates folder? there is a limit number somewhere...
but yeah- what you should try is removing all the user created items out
of the updates folder and try to pinpoint the issue.

I don't think ive reached the limit yet so I dont think its that I guess
my only other option is to take everything out and to reload only a few

stuff but they wont show up!
i downloaded rainbow bears,signs, quaterhorse,& the cappabarra & mexican

make sure you put the .ztd file in the updates folder, the .dll files in
the main zoo tycoon folder (the one that takes you to everything and has
a lot of stuff in it). also, make sure that you have unzipped the file
first (this happened to me once before. i didn't realize that the file
was zipped)

um....i never had to do that w/ the other stuff. i just clicked on it &
is downloaded. i went to"get ne stuff" then restarted ZT & it was there.

I think you downloaded from dj's site. dj's 7up & Pepsi Machines are an
example of ones that don't need to be downloaded, they install
theirselves into the updates folder.

your way is the same thing as my way, except mine is more manual. you
still should make sure that you have unzipped the files first. save them
to a folder where you'll remember them, open the game, go to get new
items, blah blah blah, go to the folder you saved the unzipped files in,
and then click them... yadda yadda yadda restart blah blah blah and you
should be golden.

Remember me guys? I know I've been gone a looonnng time. I haven't been
playing ZT for awhile. I had a lot on the plate, and just didn't play
for awhile. Now that I'm back playing I downloaded some new stuff. BIG
mistake I think. Now after all that hard work FIXING everything, I'm
stuck with thirsty guests no matter how many stupid stinkin' drink
stands I have! GARGH!!!
I know you've probably covered this a million thousand times, but would
ya mind covering it a million thousand and ONE for me? I long ago lost
my CD when we refitted our house for accessibility
so I can'treinstall. I want to wait until the newest version comes out anyhoo.
What should I do?

dont you worry, if you do not have the disk, there is still something we
can do!
go to c program filesmicrosoft gameszoo tycoon and go to your updates
folder, and open it up.
what you can do, is try to sort the items by *date modifyed* - right
click on an empty spot on the folder, click *arrange icons ----> date
(or) modifyed* that way you can see what is most recently installed.
if this doesnt work, then.. either way, remove anything user created.
what i would do, is make a new folder called *tesy* on your desktop.
now move all of the updates (all those items in the updates folder) into
the new *test* folder. once you have moved everything to this new
folder, empty out all the .ztd's in the zoo tycoon updates folder, and
start adding in 1 - 3 items back into the updates folder. test your
game, and see how it goes, until you finally end up adding something
that messes up the game.
*note- before you DO this step, in the main zoo tycoon folder, where all
of your .dll's are, make note of this chart - if you see something NOT
on this chart, remove the .dll (some dll's are over written from user
created items.)
**IF you see a .dll called *backuplangXXX (where XXX is the number of
the .dll) then delete the single .dll it is a copy of, and rename the
*backup dll* to the one you had just deleted,
example- backuplange007.dll - delete the .dll called lange007.dll and
rename the backuplange007.dll to lange007.dll.
if this sounds a tad frustrating, gimmie a pm, and i'll try my best to
help you.

I have Dino Digs, and the cheats don't work. I can't do the Dino Digs
guest rename cheats, or unlock deinosuchus. In fact, none of the Dino
cheats work! I reinstalled a few times, but still nothing. All the
normal cheats work though. What's the problem?

well.Maybe its the way your typing it? They are very specific......and

name a guest Eggman it almost makes the egg hatching instantanious
(well, right after a scientist checks it out).

October is Dinosaur Month! Purchase all dinosaurs at half price during
the in-game month of October.
Name a scientist Dr. Frankenstein and there's a 10% chance an egg will
change its contents when the scientist visits.

it's a father and his daughter is playing zt and the marine mania filter
is not available. i have no clue what to do. could someone help him out,
or post some advice here so i can help them.

for some silly reason that i do not like, you need to wait soo long for
the filter to become unlocked during a freeform game. the filter is much
important so i don't know why it isn't available from the start.
tell them to go to dj's site, http://www.hemsida.net/ztdesign/index.html
go into the Hacks section on the left hand side menu, and the second
item down is called ZT/DD/MM Freeform Unlock. have them get this and
install.

Thanks, I am the one rudy was talking about. I downloaded and installed
the hack. It created a new directory names freeform with a file
unlock.scn in it (it is the only file in this directory and the only
.scn file I have). I tried starting a freeform game (a new one), but, I
still have no filter for Marine even having all animals available if I
choose the All filter. This is for the new Zoo Tycoon Complete. Any new
ideas?

heres something i learned the hard way: don't go building MM exhibits
until ya got the filter otherwise you have to hire 2 marine specialists
just for one tank

Thanks guys. Found the problem. It is not about unlocking MM but, on a
freeform and also on the tutorial, even having some MM animals, I do not
have the filter available. When I click on the down arrow, I get All,
Tycoon, Dinosaurs. That's all. But, if I click just a little bellow
Dinissaurs, bingo, I get MM filter. Probably a bug on the complete
version, don't know.
