This was posted over at Tek and I thought others would like to read it too.
Maybe some people should take lessons from the zoo staff at this zoo. What an amazing job they have done.

thanks so much for posting this; i've been wondering if the zoo made it through okay - not as easy to evacuate animals as it is humans - and we've seen the problems rounding up the humans!

hopefully NO will be rebuilt and the zoo refurbished so visitors can see the survivors!

Oh yes, thank you for posting the info! I was worried about it, too. Now that's one thing to cross off my list of worry-wart items....now I just worry about all the stranded pets out there....thank goodness for the good souls at the SPCA's out there doing the heartbreaking work they are!

It's a relief to knowthat.I got an email an email about the poor pets :(
It said that the organization was raising a fund for the pets that got trapped in their own atticswith no food and water because of the flood .It was so sad I almost cried  because they show photos of peoplewith pets trying to rescue them.
