Sounds good, dude_88. I personally would keep a betta or a trio of fancy guppies in the 5. Feeder fish are not healthy to feed to other fish unless you get them from a reliable source (say, culls from a goldfish or guppy breeder). The feeders you find in pet stores are chock full of parasites and diseases. They're good for turtles and snakes, but you don't want to introduce that stuff to your fish!

and i also if you get 4-6 young angels for your 29 youre either going to want to get them a larger tank later or get rid of 4and just keep a pair once they pair off because more than one adult pair in a 29 is a little cramped and maybe you could get 2 more pictus and have a small shoal in the 100 gallon tank with the oscar and maybe get cory cats for the 29 because pictus get fairly large and are active so more floor space would be better

@SL: sounds like an idea ;) i will probably just get a pair or small group of brichardis by themselves (one store has a colony including a pair and three half grown offspring but some of their tanks are full of ick and other things so im not very confident of buying from them (but theirs bred in a 10 gallon and also allowed a pair (or trio i forget) of lemon cichlids (close relative) to live in there too)
but ill probably just get a pair (that way ill have more money to spend on lots of rockwork)

Yes, as for the angels, Okapi is correct. Rounding up to 30 gallons, a 29 only has room for three angels at full grown (the rule of thumb for angels is one per 10 gallons, with the min. tank size being about 30)

Okapi - sounds like a plan. The rockwork in my tank is broken pieces of slate that my parents couldn't use when doing our floors. You might want to check masonry stores/outlets, and see if they have any broken stock, they might give it to you or at least sell it REALLY cheap! ;)

I had not heard of a Hovawart so I looked it up online (being the dog lover that I am). It looks sort of like a long haired Rottweiler or a black & tan golden retriever. :)) I bet they make good watchdogs. Cute!

I had a friend who had a rottweiler-golden retriever cross. Looked like a Hovawart. Very nice dog. Can't say I've ever seen an actual Hovawart except in books and pictures, though.

Is that even possible, for a Jack Russel and a St. Bernard to breed? I would think one would be....erm....crushed in the process.

Wow! 18 years for a dog is quite an achievement. I wish they all lived that long and beyond. Even 16 is a pretty long time. The oldest dog I've ever had only lived to be 14.

I work at a vet clinic, so i see many strange mixes. The one that caught my attention the most was probably a boxer-german shepard mix because it was this huge dog with the colorations of a boxer. It had the body of the german shepard and the coat of the boxer. I also was fond of a basset hound-chocolate lab mix. It had the basset body and the lab coat.

18 years is very good for a dog. I had cats make it to 18 and 17 and the one I have now is 15 and hasn't slowed down a bit. My brother has a black lab/border collie mix. Two good breeds in one but VERY energetic. Hopefully she grows out of it so I don't get jumped all over next time.
