Hello, people,

Though some of you may not know this, I've actually introduced myself here (well, not here, but on an older version of ZKL) once before. I was two years younger, and quite a virgin to the world of Zoo Tycoon.

For those in the audience, on the internet, I go by the name of "Ballaw."

iAnd I once was just like you all, an active.... well, very active member of the ZKL community.

Of course, it was much different then... the land was ruled by gargs and Mak; there were thousands of members; Wally was Poepie (hehe); and the boards were blue, not this ugly brown. :P ;)

I don't expect any of you to remember me, but perhaps I might jog your memory...

I was indeed one of our younger members, but I found my place in the community quickly enough. Within a bit over a year, I had reached my status of being the number three poster... of course, this was in the days when being top ten meant at least 2000 posts ;) and that kind yet talkative Blue always had a few thousand more than everyone else.

I soon made my way to being a "tester" (as heroic as that was :P ) and soon after a moderator of several forums (GD being one of them). I made a few objects for the community, though none that I'm proud of. One day, on a whim of circumstaces which is lost in my memory, I created the Person of the Week (now POTM) and crowned Superlion the very first one.

Unfortunately, the galiant days of many members, many posts, and many curious individuals *COUGH*zoe*COUGH* came to an end. The blessed forum which was my second home wound down, and slowly fell apart. One by one mak, gargs and so many others said their sad goodbyes, and as zookeeper fell from the picture so did I.

I shelved Zoo Tycoon, and with the purchuse of a shiny new computer, I bothered not to save any maps or added objects. My days of ZKL, and ZT, were over. Or so it seemed.

Only today did I discover the marvelous ZT2, and I couldn't help but be interested. But with a new found interest in ZT, ZKL bounced into my mind, along with all the fond memories. Of course, I had initial surprise when I found neither zklounge.com or zklounge2.com still intact, but with the help of an old friend I rediscovered the community all over again.

Am I back? It is left to further decision whether I am or not.

Until that time, I have a bit of a present for you all, and his name is Zonkey.

Cheers, and thanks for your time,

Ballaw

Normally I say "welcome back". But Cosmic is right... Welcome home, Ballaw.

The "version 2.0" in your signature is funny. I guess that's better than 1.1. :))

Many of us still remember you. In fact, as a tribute, the dancing monkey (aka, Zonkey) :monkey: has been in the Smilie gallery since this incarnation of ZKL started. And, yes, POTW has migrated to POTM. But it is still here. Great ideas never die.

Though ZKL has changed and is much quieter, there are still some of us with a strong ZT interest, especially for new creations. And some of the changes are significant improvements. (I find the Animal Kingdom forum to be extremely interesting and educational.)

I (like so many others) hope you find your stay enjoyable! :))

Yes, and thanks to you, the founder of POTW, now POTM, it continues to live on. :D Hopefully will always live on.

Welcome back to your home, Ballaw. You were dearly missed.

Ballaw!! :o It's great to see you again! Welcome home! :D

It was kind of strange actually...I saw Zonkey somewhere else a while ago and it reminded me of you at ZKL - I never expected you to come back!

I think maybe we should throw a party!

I forgot to mention something in my previous post. We still have the "blue skin". You can go to "My Controls", go to "Skins and Languages", and change the skin from "ZKL" to "Invision Power Board". (There are 2 other choices there as well.) Many people like the "blue skin" better. However, my eyes are overly sensitive to light. My eyes would start hurting after looking at the "blue skin" for a while. So I was happy to get this "brown skin".

(Did someone mention a party? )
