No, I don't mind. It keeps me sharp. :)) And it gave me a chance to show my thought processes.

I'm assuming that the answer is: pickerel

But that means antelope should have been 4 letters match (0 in the right place) and pickerew should have been 7 letters match (7 in the right place) because both e's would count, since the guesses had at least 2 e's and the answer has 2 e's. I know how confusing this game is when it comes to repeated letters.

So is pickerel correct?

But it was 1 in the right place. So you have one-seventh of the answer already.

wallaby: 2 letters match (1 in the right place)
octopus: 4 letters match (0 in the right place)

And since wallaby and octopus do not have any letters in common, your guesses contain 6 of the 7 letters. There might even be only a couple of animals that fit those clues. So it was very nice. :))

wallaby: 2 letters match (1 in the right place)
octopus: 4 letters match (0 in the right place)
firefly: 2 letters match (1 in the right place)

Now there might be only 1 animal that fits.

firefly: 2 letters match (1 in the right place)

You should now know 1 letter that definitely has to be in the answer.

You should now know 3 letters that definitely have to be in the answer. The octopus/lamprey clues should have told you 1 letter. The octopus/opposum clues should tell you 2 more letters.
