soooooooo i opened folder #35B3B4A5 and find more folders named nw, sw, ne and se along with one named idle i also found 2 files named i.pal and statue5.pal

inside those folders i found more pal files

nowhere in this zip file have i found a ztd file

Welcome to the Lounge! Oh, how I wish the real Tigger was here. I smile just thinking of Tigger's laugh or Tigger's bouncing on his tail. But I digress.

Many of the older downloads here, including the Cetacean Celebration Pack, are ".ztd" files instead of ".zip" files. For ".ztd" files, you just copy them into the dlupdate (or Updates) folder. You do not extract them like you would for ".zip" files.

There is one other thing that causes confusion on some computer systems. This might not be true in your case, but I will mention it. On some computer systems, even though the download is a ".ztd" file, it becomes a ".zip" or ".ztd.zip" file when it is downloaded. On those systems, people have to look inside the file to see what is in it. If they see a ".ztd" inside, then they would extract. If people see an animals folder or an objects folder, then they have to rename the ".zip" or ".ztd.zip" to a ".ztd" file and then copy it as mentioned above.

Good luck and have fun!

i changed the object folder and scenery folder to ztd by adding .ztd after the names and placed them in my dlupdate folder. what i got was empty boxes in my game menu. i could buy the item only it didn't show up anywhere

i have made some pics of what i am seeing when i open all this stuff, maybe this will help you to let me know what i need to change/do to get this to work :)

first i used winzip to open the download, where i found this

Image

i opened that folder and found this

Image

i then opened the object folder and found this

Image

i opened # 35B3B4A5 and found this

Image

opened NW folder and found this

Image

all the numbered folder are the same. do i have to change all those files/folders to ztd?

hi ya

When I downloaded this I got a file with this name SundanceCetaceanCelebration.ZTD.zip
If your file looks like this then all you need to do is right click on the file, choose rename and delete the .zip part of the name. You will then have a ZTD file which is what you put in the dlupdate file of your game.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the bouncing tigger smile. :))

What fern says is correct, but your situation could be different. The download is SundanceCetaceanCelebration.ZTD. On my computer, that is how it is downloaded. It still had the name SundanceCetaceanCelebration.ZTD. So I would just copy it to Zoo Tycoon's dlupdate folder. If you see that name on your computer, you just copy it as well. You might have to turn on an option in order to see the ".ZTD" ending.

In fern's case, it became SundanceCetaceanCelebration.ZTD.zip when it was downloaded. So she had to rename it to SundanceCetaceanCelebration.ZTD. Then she copied it to Zoo Tycoon's dlupdate folder. If you see that name when you download it, you will have to do the same.

For some people, it becomes SundanceCetaceanCelebration.zip when it is downloaded. If that is the case for you, you will have to rename it to SundanceCetaceanCelebration.ztd and copy it to Zoo Tycoon's dlupdate folder.

You also need to remove the objects.ztd and scenery.ztd that you created earlier.

I hope that is more understandable. If not, I can try giving more details.

Good luck!

What version of windows are you running. You need to tell it to show the file extensions which is why what we are saying isn't helping.
ztd and zip are both file extensions and everything has them. It just depends how your computer is set up as to whether or not you see them.

To expand on what fern said... Here is how to show file extensions if you are using Windows XP. If you have a different Windows version, please say and someone can probably say how to do it in that Windows version.

In Windows XP, click "Start" then click "My Computer". In the My Computer screen, click "Tools" then click "Folder Options" then click "View". Click on the checkmark next to "Hide extensions for known file types" so that the checkmark disappears. Click "Apply". Now you should be able to see SundanceCetaceanCelebration.ZTD or a similar name with something at the end.

But before you try putting SundanceCetaceanCelebration.ZTD into your game, it concerns me that you are still seeing blank squares in your menu. Try removing anything you have put in dlupdate or any other Zoo Tycoon folder since you started trying to get SundanceCetaceanCelebration.ZTD to work. Run the game and see if the blank squares went away. If not, and if you cannot figure out what other files you may have accidentally included, you might need to save any of your Saved Games somewhere else on your computer, uninstall Zoo Tycoon, delete the Zoo Tycoon folder and anything in it if it is still there after the uninstall, then reinstall Zoo Tycoon.

Good luck!

Jay;

It was easily fixed...like you said before it was an older file that had been renamed from .ztd to .zip....
All I did was rename it back to .ztd, test it in my game to make sure it worked, zipped the whole thing up again and sent it back again ... problem solved !

Sundance I had never seen those statues before, they are great !!!
(now added to my game dls as well ;) )

Later
