Yeah yeah, I know I'm nuts. But actually for a spam thread this isn't too bad...the second it goes crazy, tho', it's goin' bye-bye.

Milk chocolate all the way. Dark chocolate has nothing on cows.

Since the topic has changed to chocolate, did anyone know that chocolate was originally a drink and was that way for a long time?

The wing-beat of the hummingbird is indeed fast. It is a blur even with most slow motion photography. But the fastest wing-beat, at 90 beats per second, is that of the horned sungem (Heliactin cornuta) of tropical South America. Some hummingbird records (according to The Guinness Book of Records):

Smallest bird is the bee hummingbird (Mellisuga helenae) of Cuba and the Isle of Pines. Adult males are 2.24 inches in length, half of which is bill and tail. They weigh .056 ounces. Females are slightly larger and slightly heavier.

Smallest bird egg is laid by the vervain hummingbird (Mellisuga minima) of Jamaica. They are less than .39 inches in length and weigh around .013 ounces. Smallest bird egg in the United States is laid by the Costa hummingbird (Calypte coastae). They are .48 inches in length and weigh around .017 ounces.

Smallest bird nests are built by hummingbirds. That of the vervain hummingbird is about half the size of a walnut. That of the bee hummingbird is deeper and thimble-sized.

Now on to chocolate. Cacao beans were discovered by the Aztecs. They were also the first to use the beans to make both cocoa and chocolate, which (as Save The Mop mentioned) was a drink. This chocolate drink was a luxury, however, because cacao beans were used by the Aztecs as money. The words "cacao", "cocoa", and "chocolate" come from the Aztec forms of these words. "Chocolate" comes from the Aztec "xocolatl" which is a concatenation of "xococ" and "atl", meaning "bitter water". (These Aztec words are how the Spanish wrote down what the Aztecs were saying. The Aztecs did not have letters; they used pictograms.) The Aztecs also discovered tomatoes and avocados. Again, we are using words derived from the Aztecs. Aztecs also discovered a number of varieties of popcorn. However, the Aztecs did not eat popcorn; it was more ceremonial.

You are quite knowledgeable on the subject of both humming birds and chocolate. ;) But what does that have to do with your love of chocolate? Us girls will train you properly. Chocolate is your friend! :D

I like almost everything that's sweet except really dark chocolate unless melted and put on vanilla ice

A fact is a simple statement that everyone believes. It is innocent, unless found guilty. A hypothesis is a novel suggestion that no one wants to believe. It is guilty, until found effective.

I was eating lunch at school one day, dessert being vanilla pudding. I had a fruit drink as well. Well, I ate some pudding and took a sip out of the fruit drink. Gosh, it tasted horrible! :XP: And guess what? The next day, I ended up doing the same thing again!
