Good job guys. I had a 92% when I took the written test to get my permit. In Colorado it is too easy to get a permit. You can miss 7 out of 25 and still get one. That's a 72% to pass. Way too low in my opinion.

Why is it different from state to state?!! :?

When the United States created its Constitution, many people were concerned about a central government that was too strong. They believed that a central government couldn't know what was going on in all locations. So the Constitution was created with many compromises. The states would create their own laws for things involving safety. The central government would ceate laws for things involving commerce between the states. From this, the states create their own laws for how driving licenses and permits can be obtained, as well as the laws affecting driving on the various roads. Also from this, the central (Federal) government appropriates funds for roads that go "between" states (interstates and other federal roads), as well as decide what maximum speeds are for these roads. It gets confusing sometimes. (For example, Hawaii has an interstate even though it cannot get to another state.) And politicians continuously try to reinterpret the Constitution and laws. But these are the underlying reasons for the differences.

thx for the info, but wouldn't it be much easier to have on general law.
The US is a now a federal state but wasn't it at the beginning a confederal state?

Some people would say a general law is better. Others will say a general law is not better. Should a state that has snow and ice have different driving laws than a state that does not? Maybe, maybe not. The Constitution can be amended. But it takes many votes. So it is usually amended only for significant things, at least more significant than driving.

"confederal" is something involving two or more nations. You probably mean "the Confederation". In 1781, two years before the end of the American Revolution, the 13 original states called themselves "the Conferation" under a document called the Articles of Confederation. This lasted from 1781-1789. In 1787, a Constitutional Convention was held in Philadelphia to create the Constitution of the United States, which went into affect March 4, 1789. It is this document and its Amendments that "guides" the United States today.

Many people think George Washington was the first president here. However, there were other presidents during the Confederation. George Washington was the first president under the Constitution.

Just keep practicing Okapi. It took me a while to get the hang of turns, but eventually I mastered them. Braking is just a matter of feel. Pretty soon it'll just be basic instinct for you. The only way to learn is get out there and practice and soon you'll have your license.

I don't look forward to driving, even though I know (well, basically) how to drive. But the pedals make me nervouse and i press to hard on them. One time I almost ran into a parked 18-wheeler! It's kinda confusing, but maybe as I get older I'll get more brains. Or I could enhance my brain XD
