1 sister, only 5 years younger than me but i take care of her alot and love her to death. we actualy fight alot and get along great, i know kinda confusing but u kinda have to be there to get it.
as for cousins. well my fathers side is a mess so im not really sure exactly how many cousins i have there and since we never see his family i haven't ever really asked much about them. only his sisters 2 sons are the only cousins on his side i know really well.
as for my mother's side i have 27 cousins exactly (my mom has 9 brothers and sisters). 15 of them live really close by and i can see most weekends. the others who live farther away i've only met with or spoken to a few times, and i haven't actualy met one of my aunts 4 kids yet. hopefully when im older ill visit jalisco and get to see them.
oh and the cousins who live far away and i don't ever se are a bit older so many have kids already. from all my cousins that i see at my grandmothers thou im the oldest and the only guy my age so im usually in charge of taking my lil cousins places or anything else.

a second cousins is someone in your generation so it wouldn't usuauly be someone too much older or younger than you. correct me if im wrong but i believe a second cousin is the child of one of your grandparents nephews or nieces...basicly your grandparent's sibling's grandchildren as opposed to a first cousins which is your parent's sibling's children.Wolfyu wrote: I have...seven cousins, and two cousins once removed. Yes, I think that's right. Your second cousin would be your the child of your grandparent's sibling, and your cousin once removed would be the child of your first cousin. I think. I'm not good with familial terminology, either! 6_9

okay i did some research. a sibling, a cousin, a second cousin, third cousins, forth cousin, etc....is ging to be someone of your generation. basicly:

second cousin - great grandchild of your great grandparent (thats not you, a sibling, or a cousin)

well you get the idea.
now as for cousin once removed. that basicly means son of your first cousin. twice removed means grandchild, third times removed means great grandchild, etc.... so your third cousin twice removed is the grandchild of a third cousin of yours. yea im confused too.
on another note: before i did this reserch i was under the impression that second cousins were the children of first cousins, then when i did this reserch i thought it wasn't true, then i thought about it and it turns out it is true. just check for yourself. so most of us are probably right but weve just heard of different ways of thinking what each one is.
